Where You’re Staying
Runaway Bay Is Not Ocho Rios.
That matters. Runaway Bay is quieter, more local, less overrun. You’re not competing with cruise ship crowds for a spot at the falls. The beach is close and calm. The vendors know your name by day two. The pace is different — and for our guests, that’s usually the point.
Ocho Rios is 25 minutes east when you want the energy. Everything else — the caves, the jerk, the river, the hills — is right here.
Cardiff Hall, Runaway Bay — the north coast without the noise.
Guest Access
There’s a Private Beach.
Ten Minutes Away.
Mabella guests have access to a private beach just a short walk from the property. Calm water, no vendors, no wristbands. Bring a towel and leave when you want.
Ask us when you arrive — we’ll give you the details and the best time of day to go.
Also worth knowing:
- ▶ Flavors Beach is walkable from parts of the neighborhood
- ▶ Discovery Bay — 15 mins west — for a quieter swim
- ▶ Our saltwater pool is always available on property
- ▶ We can arrange transport to any beach or attraction
A Note for Those Coming Back
“It Looks Different.
It Feels the Same.”
For guests coming home after years abroad — or bringing their children back for the first time — Jamaica can be a lot to navigate. What’s changed. What hasn’t. Where to go, what to skip, how to find the version of the island that means something to you.
We’ve tried to write these guides accordingly. Ask us anything we’ve left out.
